Begg / Beggs

The names Begg and Begge in Ireland are often derived from the name of a Norman settler family, especially in the Province of Leinster. The name also exists as Bueg in County Cork. In Ulster these names are usually of immigrant origin, being variants of the English names Beggs and Bigge.
