Según O'Hart, sus armas son: en campo de gules un chevron, de plata, y tres lises de ese mismo metal, dos en jefe y una en la punta. Cimera: un ciervo rampante, de plata.

CARMODY en Irlanda es un antiguo y honorable apellido, proveniente del gaélico O'Cearmada, clan éste localizado en el sudoeste del país, y en los Condados de Clare, y también en Kerry y Limerick, especialmente. Entre los irlandeses llegados a Buenos Aires hasta el año 1880 se anotan dos de este apellido, Mary y James CARMODY, que arribaron en el "Biela" el 27 de julio de 1870.
