Ferris

The name Ferris in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic O'Fearghuis Sept which is also anglicized as Fergus. The name literally translates as 'man of vigour'. O'Fergus is another variant and it is also used in Ulster instead of the immigrant Scottish names Ferguson and MacFergus.
