Gannon
El antiguo linaje de los MagFionnain, de Ennis, Co.Mayo, cuyos miembros traducen su apellido como GANNON, sin el prefijo, tiene todavía numerosos descendientes en irlanda. Sobre los que se radicaron en la Argentina se puede decir que en los Libros de Entradas de Pasajeros al Puerto de Buenos Aires hasta 1880 se anotan 25 personas de este apellido.
The name Gannon in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic Sept Mag Fhionnain, taken from the Gaelic word 'fionn' meaning 'fair'. The Septs was based in the Province of Connaught and in Counties Mayo and Clare in particular. It is here that the majority of descendants can still be found.
