Hanratty

The Irish name Hanratty is derived from the native Gaelic O'hAnrachtaigh Sept, taken from a word meaning 'unlawful'. This Sept was located in Counties Louth and Armagh and it is in these and surrounding Counties that the majority of descendants can still today be found.
