Johnson

The name Johnson in Ireland is often of immigrant origin having been brought to the country by settlers from Scotland, especially during the seventeenth century. The native Gaelic MacSeain Sept of County Tyrone adopted Johnson as the anglicized form of their name, as well as MacShane.
