Neary / O´Neary
The name Neary in Ireland is derived from the native Gaelic O'Naraigh sept that was located in the North of Connaught Province. The name is taken from a Gaelic word that translates as 'modest'. O'Neary is a variant while MacNeary is most usually a form of Menarry.
Origen: Irlandés. First found in County Tyrone (Irish:Tír Eoghain), the ancient territory of the O'Neills, now in the Province of Ulster, central Northern Ireland, where they were seated at Cullentra.
