Noonan / Nunan / Nuneen

The names Nunan and Noonan in Ireland are derived from the native Gaelic O'Nuanain or O'hIonmhaineain Septs that are derived from the Gaelic word 'ionmhain' meaning 'beloved'. County Cork was the principal location of these Septs. O'Nunan and Nuneen are variants.
