Winter
The name Winter in Ireland is often of immigrant origin having been introduced into Ulster Province by settlers who arrived from England and Scotland, especially during the seventeenth century. Winter and Winters are also used as anglicized forms of the County Tyrone Gaelic Mac Giolla Gheimhridh name, which was also changed to MacAlivery.
